ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: $350,000

Sealed bids for Replace AWOS will be received by the COAHOMA COUNTY BOARD of SUPERVISORS at the Coahoma County Administrator’s Office, 115 1st Street, Clarksdale, Mississippi, 38614 until 10:00 AM Local Time on May 9, 2025. Timely received bids will be opened and read aloud beginning at 10:05 PM. on May 9, 2025 in the Coahoma County Board of Supervisor’s Board Room located at the Coahoma County Administrator’s Office. Bids received after 10:00 AM will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.

The work is generally described as follows: Remove and replace AWOS (Automated Weather Observation Station). Contract time is 180 calendar days for AWOS material procurement (Phase 0) and 30 calendar days for all field work (Phase 1). Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 will be assessed for each consecutive calendar day after the contract time.

A pre-bid conference for this project will be scheduled for April 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Clarksdale – Coahoma County Airport Conference Room located within the FBO to discuss the work. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid conference and perform a site visit of the project area prior to bidding.

Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi Board of Public Contractors establishing classification as to the value and type of construction work on which he is authorized to bid.

Bids may be submitted via mail on the standard form to the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors or may be submitted via electronic submittal through www.neel-schafferplans.com, at which time the bid will be logged and must include a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid. The successful bidder will be required to execute the standard form of Contract and Agreement, together with a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, within 10 days after formal award of the contract.
